David Vieira Selected for the 2022-2023 Board of Advisors for the Center for Supply Chain Research® (CSCR®)

Philadelphia, PA, February 8, 2022 – The Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business announced their selection of David Vieira, CLX Logistics’ President and CEO to the 2022-2023 Center for Supply Chain Research Advisory Board. Additional representation includes returning members from Hershey, LMI, Walmart, SDI, and Merck. Mr. Vieira is one of three newly elected members, with others from NTT Data Services and IBM.

Penn State’s CSCR® is a dedicated leader in supply chain management research and education. The CSCR® Advisory Board enables the Center to remain at the forefront of the supply chain discipline by aligning Penn State Smeal supply chain research, programs, and offerings with current and future industry challenges and trends. Board members commit to a two-year appointment, act in a brand and sponsor development role for the University, Smeal College of Business, and CSCR®, remaining active in Center-sponsored programs and events. They provide input and guidance for the CSCR® strategic plan and forward-thinking initiatives, as well as approve our faculty research affiliates and fellowships.

David Vieira brings more than 25 years of executive logistics industry experience to his role as Chief Executive Officer of CLX Logistics. Prior to this role, Mr. Vieira served the Company as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2015 to the spring of 2018.

Before joining CLX Logistics, Mr. Vieira was President and Chief Executive Officer of MXD Group, Inc., where he was responsible for defining and shaping a $300 million home delivery logistics business following a divestiture of Exel Direct from Deutsche Post World Net. In this position, he also led the acquisition and integration of the company’s biggest competitor, Home Direct, Inc.
