Headquartered in Reinach near Basel, Switzerland, Archroma was created from the textile, paper and emulsions businesses of Clariant. It is now a global color and specialty chemicals company that is committed to innovation, world-class quality standards, high service levels, cost efficiency and sustainability.
With about 3,000 employees spanning 35 countries, Archroma maintains three businesses: Textile Specialties, Paper Solutions and Emulsion Products. It is a portfolio company of SK Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on the specialty materials, chemicals and healthcare sectors.
Request
Following its spinoff from Clariant in September 2013, Archroma identified a need for Managed Services, including freight payment support. By engaging CLX Logistics, it was able to quickly and effectively stand up those capabilities—minimizing the need for a costly “transition services agreement” with its former parent company.
Approach
CLX Logistics was already providing services to Archroma’s former parent company—making these services the logical choice for the new entity. Archroma is now using CLX Logistics’ Freight Payment & Audit Services enterprise wide.
Results
Since engaging CLX Logistics in 2013, Archroma has realized a number of results, including:
- Smooth, cost-effective transition away from its parent company.
- Real-time visibility to any exception invoices requiring the review and approval or denial of Archroma employees.
- Minimal interaction with carriers because CLX Logistics serves as the first line of communication for any payment issues.
